I just started a quick Tumblr blog that pulls a few Clemson RSS feeds from the various tubes of the internets and dumps them into one small little site. As I find more information and feeds, I'll add them to the site as well.
In addition to the news and information gathered from external sites, I'm also linking in the Clemson Alumni group here on on Vox (clemson.groups.vox.com) so that people can post their own opinions and commentary to the the new site via Vox.
So, without further ado, here it is: clemsonsportsfan.com
Caitlin Lowe and the Arizona Wildcats managed to hold back the Lady Vols offense and ended up with a 1-0 win in 10 innings of softball. Tying the series at 1-1, Lowe's Wildcats will face Schutzler's Vols tomorrow in a 1 game battle for the national title.
ESPN.com's Michael Smith is reporitng that Keyshawn Johnson will retire. In
honor of Key, I reprint this quote of his: "If you can't get with Keyshawn
Johnson, then you've got a probelm with yourself". So good.
Big story in the NASCAR world...apparently Dale Jr. is officially leaving
the company his daddy built (D.E.I.)....I wonder if NASCAR's favorite son
might end up teaming with NASCAR's biggest villain? (Though it might be a
debate between Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart who the biggest villain is...)
I'd like to watch some of that game, but I have a feeling I'm going to fall
asleep first...
Well, I made it down to Charlotte for the Wachovia Championship. I had
debated whether or not to head down here early this morning to see Tiger and
Michael Jordan playing together, however, ended up waiting until later in
the day. Probably a good decision since everything I've heard seems to
indicate that it was a complete zoo earlier today. The "big guns" go off in
the afternoon tomorrow, but since we're here for 4 days, might get 4-5 hours
in before that...should be a good time regardless.
Doing their best to erase the bad taste of the horrific 5 game sweep by the
Yankees in Fenway last year, the Red Sox managed to put together a sweep of
their own. There were different heroes in each game, including: Hideki
Okajima coming in to close out the game on Friday, Coco Crisp getting on
track on Saturday, and the back-to-back-to-back-back home runs by ManRam, JD
Drew, Mikey Lowell, and the Captain Jason Varitek yesterday.
After spending most of the season scuffling it was great to see guys like
Varitek come through in a big series. Congratulations to the Red Sox and The
Nation.
So after comparing Red Sox rookies 2nd baseman Dustin Pedoria to Marc
Belhorn yesterday, Gordon Edes of the Boston Globe wrties an article
about him. As he mentioned, batting .167 is not the way the kid wanted
to start the season. I hope the kid can turn it around, for his sake
and the teams, but in order to do that, he's going to have to take the
bat off his shoulder every so often.
I don't really follow Women's College Basketball that closely...I pay
attention to the Lady Vols here and there, tuned in more last year
when Shanna Zoleman was showing off her shooting form on a nightly
basis...still, the story about the Duke team hiring Joanne P. McCallie
is interesting to me, not just because it's a local story, but because
Joanne (formerly Palombo) used to coach at the University of Maine and
led a number of basketball clinics my little sister went to.
Congratulations to Coach McCallie.
