Well, I'm still dragging on posting to my blogs, mostly because I like to post when in front of the TV, but my Mac is in my study and I want to use MarsEdit to do my posts. As sort of a stop-gap, I downloaded Windows Live Writer, which seems like it will help me with my WordPress postings but it doesn't integrate with Vox like MarsEdit does.
Anyway, here's my posting on my futile attempts to acquire un-DRMed versions of Kayne West and 50 Cent's latest albums. As always, you can read it at kivus.com & johnkivus.com
My latest wordpress posting takes the, what seems like to people who are deep in web culture, "unpopular" position of being against Net Neutrality. You can read it on kivus.com & johnkivus.com
Excerpt:
One issue that most of the web media (i.e. podcasters, tech news websites, etc…) seems to have a consensus opinion on is Net Neutrality, namely: the government should step in and regulate the internet to prevent companies from distributing bandwidth via free market principles. It’s for this reason that the term “Net Neutrality” can be simply defined as “government regulation of the internet.”
I did a little work with Yahoo Pipes to combine my kivus.com feed, kivus.vox.com feed and my kivus.info feed, burned it, and the end result is this: http://feeds.feedburner.com/KivusCombinedFeed. I'm going to use that in the future on sites like Facebook & Virb that allow you to import feeds as a way to publish your existing content....
Doing a quit egosurf on the name of the golf I saw just barely miss the cut at the end of the 2nd round of the US Women's Open.

Just got down updating my Web Presence page (i.e. the page that lists all my various profiles in Web 2.0 and social networking sites). I added things like Pownce, my new golf comments Tumblr, and also some of the new "easy url" versions of things (i.e. "facebook.kivus.com" for my Facebook Profile instead of the whole awful URL they normally give.)

...well, at least in the primary book I'm reading. I've decided to read the prequel to the _Mass Effect_ video game, entitled _Mass Effect: Revelation_. It's by Drew Karpsyhyn, who apparently wrote the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic games (which had phenomenal stories). Should be a good light read before I delve back into my more dense reading.
Just updated links on my side bar, putting in my Facebook Profile, my primary Tumblr (http://justsitthereandcarrydisease.com) and my Web Presence page that lists all the various aspects of my online presence. I could have put my MySpace up there, but I would much rather people joined me on Facebook since the site is about 100x better. See you guys in the tubes of the internets!
Since I've now got way too many _So You Think You Can Dance?_ clips linked to on this site, I've added them to a collection:

I've been playing with blogging platforms lately, seeing how easy different platforms are to install, navigate, etc....Currently I'm running the following platforms on the following sites:
Fully Integrated Platforms: (these platforms are not installed at an external web host)
Vox: kivus.vox.com
Wordpress.com: johnkivus.com
Tumblr: justsithereandcarrydisease.com
Hosted Platforms: (these platforms are installed by me at my hosted account at websitesource.com)
Wordpress: kivus.com, kivus.info
Movable Type: 37feet2inches.com
Drupal: carolinasoxfan.com
Now, at this point, I've really only installed Movable Type and Drupal, clicked around it some, and just taken a look at the UI. One of the reasons I selected each of them was that they were supposed to be highly scalable, especially in regards to community features. Thought I'm sure I don't really have a community of people reading my respective blogs are this time, I wanted to gain some experience configuring them. I'll update my impressions after I've spent more time with them.
Also, I plan on doing a fuller review of Wordpress (the installable version), since I think that has become my favorite blogging interface.
So I seem to be starting a bunch of different sites where I can put my own stuff and mix it with stuff from around the internets. Since I've got 3 of them at this point, I decided to start tracking them on my web presence site: presence.kivus.com.
Here's what I've listed so far, including the intro text:
In addition to my websites mentioned above, I maintain a view aggregation sites on different topics. These sites are subject specific, and are usually a mixture of my writings on the particular subject and various other information obtained from RSS feeds on the subject.
