While most of the weekend in the world of comics and related entertainment is focused on the events taking place in Wizard World Chicago, a sad piece of news was released this morning...comic artist / writer Michael Turner has lost his battle with cancer and passed away.

Some might think of Witchblade or Fathom or his Identity Crisis covers when they first hear Michael Turner's name, but for me, I'll always associated him with the latest incarnation of Supergirl...

Though Michael's art was the type where you either tried to collect everything he did or did not care for his style at all, no one would argue that the comics world is worse off without him being a part of it. My best wishes go out to all those close with Michael, family, friend, etc...

It's official...Hope Solo will be the goalie for the US Women's team in the Olympics...good to see everyone moving on from that disaster last year...

I'm not a big fan of _Doctor Who_ episodes that don't feature a lot of the the Doctor himself...but I'll make a special exception this week with the well-publicized return of one of one of the Doctor's previous companions...

Namely...one Rose Tyler...

The Newsarama Blog has a new poster for the upcoming _The Spirit_ movie...Good to see Scarlet can take time out of sending message to her "email buddy" Barack Obama and have her picture taken...

Looking forward to this movie more and more...

I can't comment on how the tournament was played too much yet, since I was in Charlotte all weekend watching the PGA guys play, but I've got Paula's victory queued up on the TiVo. Another win for the young star in pink.

I didn't think the Sox had it in them today, but they managed another come from behind win, taking the lead in the 8th on some clutch hitting from Dustin Pedroia the gang...Also, it looks like Big Papi is starting to break out of his slump...
