Some reactions on Faina Savich's departure from SYTYCD

There were a couple of interesting reactions to Faina getting voted off last week's SYTYCD. The first comes from FOX News Reality TV blogger Anna David (of AOTS: In Your Pants Fame).In her write up,  Anna recounts how Faina wraps up all of the best story lines from a reality show...the girl who the other girls can't stand, the medical emergency, the partner who let her down...all the drama the show needs. Of course, she also points out what might be gender bias on Mia Michaels part in how she goes on and on about one of the male dancer's hands but just dismisses Faina as "terrific."

Television Without Pity's recaplet  also examines a little judging bias, this time in of Nigel's apparent obession with Jessie (a.k.a. the girl who rubbed oil on herself during the tryouts). It also goes into the whole "where you let down by your partner?" garbage Nigel threw out there at the end. Clearly Faina was let down by her partner, if she'd been with someone like Danny or Pasha she'd never have sniffed the bottom 3. Still, apparently Jessie's rubbing of oil was too much to overcome for our little ballroom dancer from Russia, so I'll agree with TWP's closing statement "But you cut Faina. You're dead to me. All of you."
